All in the Technology?
It was in the middle of the 1980s when gaming consoles were introduced to the market. While the Atari was a blast, it was the Nintendo that really transformed climbing trees and backyard football matches into sleepovers that focused on beating this new technology. While the games began to appear similar to life experiences, the juvenile obesity statistics began to slowly rise. All of a sudden, other gaming consoles were launched to compete and the rest is history.

Their modifications let games like Call of Duty and Gears of War and even Halo to be played on the internet all over the world. If you throw in food, colas, and hours of playing these games, you have a childhood obesity epidemic.
The Wii Era
At last, Nintendo returned to contend with the PS3 and Xbox 360 with the Nintendo Wii. Its improvements set forth an entirely new complexity to the gaming universe. It let kids play games that definitely made them exercise without even realizing it. It is things such as tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball, snow skiing and all other things children typically do outside. Can this be a remedy to chronically plump kids? Whether or not it will reduce childhood obesity for these juveniles remains to be determined.
Time with the Family
Another area that is for want at the moment and that can be a major factor in the rise of childhood obesity stats is the insufficiency of family time. Whether it is the economy, having to work many jobs, or just not having enough money, a lot of families are opting out of spending time outdoors. Alternatively, we are focusing on places like YouTube, creating new web pages, World of Warcraft, and other activities on the internet.
Remember the times when you would go to the park in the wintertime to go tobogganing? What about just getting on your bicycle and exploring the neighborhood? Although some children still do such activities, many kids out there nowadays would prefer to have a controller in their hands rather than bike grips. It is likely that the parents are so caught up on the internet that it does not matter to them anyway. It has been very apparent that we have to alter some habits attained in our present culture to eliminate the childhood obesity issues that have become a norm in present day society.
Crime

If it adds to childhood obesity or not, is a silent point, however it is an absolute part of the issue. How many people are you aware of will not let their children bike ride for miles without the parent being there as well?
Spoiling the Children
Additionally an area of concern and more of harsh honesty than anything, is that we spoil our kids incredibly. It may be because we were not allowed to experience the same things when we were children, or perhaps it is that we behave like children ourselves nowadays. No matter what it is, the juvenile obesity numbers have risen because of us. Given, there are many different possibilities like the ones we discussed previously; however, this one is certainly an enormous culprit assisting our overweight kids.
What are your Thoughts?
Do youngsters today need to exchange their Wiis for a baseball diamond or soccer field? The fact is, the present youth obesity fads are everybody's concerns and not just one family. It is our society that has developed the problems at hand, and we do not halt the process because we do not want to be left out of the circle. The fact of the matter is, youth obesity, could be reversed if we return to the way things used to be and make our kids physically active. If it will occur or not, remains to be determined.
In the measures we take to get our kids to do more physical activity, we must also make certain they are getting ample rest.
